Pharmacy Technician
Field of Interest: Health Sciences
Work in a pharmacy practice in retail, hospital, and institutional settings. Process and prepare medications, dispense medications, interact with patients and insurance companies, and learn inventory and quality control practices.

Interested in health resources and services?
Interested in health resources and services? Consider pursuing the Pharmacy Technician training program at SCC, which meets the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board requirements. This helps you prepare to take the Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam (PTCE) or the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) Exam for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians (ExCPT). The program includes hands-on learning through a 200-hour externship (apply what you learn in class, in real-world settings).

Interested in becoming an educator? The Scottsdale Teacher Education Partnership (STEP) Post- Baccalaureate Teacher Certification programs are designed for students that have a minimum of a bachelor's degree in any discipline and would like to become a certified teacher in grades K through 8. Ideal for professionals who have experience, including substitute teaching, or for someone new to education.

Field of Interest: Computer and Information Technology
Formulate and apply mathematical modeling and other optimizing methods to develop and interpret information that assists management with decision making, policy formulation, or other managerial functions. May collect and analyze data and develop decision support software, service, or products. May develop and supply optimal time, cost, or logistics networks for program evaluation, review, or implementation.

Examine Securities Industries Essentials (SIE) - Financial Services (16 credits) – The Certificate of Completion (CCL) in Securities Industry Essentials builds the industry knowledge and skills for individuals to prepare for careers in Financial Services. This CCL will introduce students new to or interested in financial services to the fundamental concepts of capital markets, types of products and their risks, trading, customer accounts, prohibited activities, and regulatory agencies and their functions. Students with the requisite experience in the field who complete this CCL can pursue employment in a variety of security industry jobs. This CCL also helps to prepare students for the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) Securities Industry Essentials (SIE).

Community Health Worker
Field of Interest: Health Sciences
Assist individuals and communities to adopt healthy behaviors. Conduct outreach for medical personnel or health organizations to implement programs in the community that promote, maintain, and improve individual and community health. May provide information on available resources, provide social support and informal counseling, advocate for individuals and community health needs, and provide services such as first aid and blood pressure screening. May collect data to help identify community health needs.

Consider Integrated Public Health: Community Health Worker (17-19 credits) – The Certificate of Completion (CCL) in Integrated Public Health: Community Health Worker program is designed to prepare individuals for entry-level employment as health navigators or community health workers. Students will be exposed to how to identify appropriate health resources and services for clients and to communicate with diverse populations. In addition, students will study in-depth a variety of insurance coverage and government programs to help their clients optimize the benefits and resources available to them. Students will specialize in either health navigation or health care coordination to address specific community and career needs.

Field of Interest: Business, Entrepreneurialism, and Management
Plan, direct, or coordinate the operations of public or private sector organizations. Duties and responsibilities include formulating policies, managing daily operations, and planning the use of materials and human resources, but are too diverse and general in nature to be classified in any one functional area of management or administration, such as personnel, purchasing, or administrative services.
