HESI A2
The Evolve Reach (HESI) Admission Assessment Exam (A2) is the Nursing program entrance exam. The HESI A2 is a computer-based test consisting of Four Modules: Math Skills, Reading Comprehension, Vocabulary & General Knowledge, and Grammar.
- All four modules must be completed within a single four-hour testing session.
- A current, valid photo ID is required.
- Personal calculators are not permitted. When allowed, a calculator will appear within the testing program.
- Nursing Program Minimum Scores: Math: 75% English Composition: 80%.
- Results are valid for two years.
- Students may retest after a 60-day waiting period. Three tests are permitted within a 12-month time period..
Fees
- The fee is $45 for the HESI A2 Entrance Exam.
- No refunds and costs are subject to change. Payment must be made prior to your exam appointment.
- An eight-digit MCCCD student ID number is required for testing and payment for all students.

- You will receive a confirmation email upon scheduling an appointment for the exam. This email will provide directions on the creation of your testing account and the payment options for the exam.

Yes, you can take the HESI A2 exam prior to any prerequisites to the nursing program. It is best to have some of the courses completed, ie, ENG101 and MAT141, prior to building your knowledge base. For best results, please make sure you study and prepare before you take the exam.
Yes, you can take the HESI A2 exam three times within a 12-month period. You must wait 60 days between each attempt. Retaking it does not affect your application acceptance.
