Auditions are generally from 12:30 - 4 pm on the dates indicated below.

Audition Application

You should audition if you:

• Are a new dance student at SCC.
• Want to take a technique class higher than level 1.
• Do not have a teacher's recommendation to go into a higher-level class.

Qualifications:

• Must be pursuing a Dance Degree
• Enrolled in a minimum of 3 dance classes during the fall semester and spring semester
• Must maintain a “C” average grade

Fusion Dance Ensemble

Fusion Dance Ensemble is a college-level repertory company. Fusion is comprised of dedicated dancers who are accepted by audition. The company focuses on dance in its wide range of styles: Modern dance, Ballet, Jazz, Hip Hop, African, and Dance Theatre to name a few. Training requirements for Fusion include classes in Ballet, Modern, Jazz and/or Hip Hop. Rehearsal commitments involve six hours of weekly rehearsal as well as extra time when needed. Auditions for Fusion Dance Ensemble are at the beginning of each semester.

Instinct Dancecorps

Instinct Dancecorps is a pre-professional multi-discipline ensemble consisting of the finest up-and-coming dancers in Arizona. Each member brings to Instinct the technical strength and athleticism resulting from serious rehearsal and training. Instinct Dancecorps is recommended for 2nd and 3rd year students and not for 1st year students due to its large year-long commitment. Fusion Dance Ensemble auditions are in August and January and are generally the prerequisite for Instinct Dancecorps.

The company is well connected to the national dance scene, having worked with many important modern dance choreographers during its history. IDC has developed a versatility and quickness that has prompted its rapid success. IDC performs regularly in the Phoenix area and has performed throughout the United States. IDC has been honored with national recognition and many awards.
