SCC Sonder

About SCC Sonder

SCC Sonder is a series of spoken word events that allows creative writers of all skill levels to gather and share original pieces of work focused on a central theme with the goal of forming authentic connections that strengthen our community.

November Theme: Belong

Prepare and submit your pieces about homecomings, second chances, new normals, and the people, places, and things you just can’t seem to quit.

All SCC students, staff, and faculty are encouraged to attend and participate by reading their personal narratives, flash fiction, manuscript excerpts, poetry, monologues, lyrics, or perform songs in front of a supportive audience.

Live In-Person Open Mic

  • Wednesday, November 16
  • 11:30 am - 1 pm
  • Two Waters Circle Amphiteater

Complimentary food and beverage will be provided. Participants are encouraged to stay for the entirety of the event to support and encourage their fellow writers.

Open mic slots are limited!

To submit your piece and reserve your mic slot, email: [email protected] by Monday, November 14 at 12 pm. Interested participants must email the piece they wish to read/perform. Those who have not submitted their work prior to the event will not be allowed to participate.
