Scottsdale Community College (SCC) invites audiences to ring in the spring season with Boeing Boeing, a fast-paced, laugh-out-loud comedy that has delighted audiences around the world. Directed by Don K. Williams, Boeing Boeing will take the stage at SCC’s Performing Arts Center Main Stage in March.
Written by Marc Camoletti and translated by Beverly Cross, Boeing Boeing follows the story of Bernard, a charming Parisian bachelor whose carefully orchestrated romantic life depends on precise airline schedules. Engaged to three beautiful airline hostesses, each from a different country, Bernard believes he has perfected the ultimate balancing act of layovers and timetables. But when the introduction of a new Boeing jet disrupts everything, his meticulously planned world spirals into chaos, bringing all three fiancées under the same roof at once. What follows is a whirlwind of mistaken identities, close calls, and madcap hilarity.
“Boeing Boeing is one of the most performed plays in the world almost every year since 1962. Why? Because it is such a crazy, fun and silly romp and, for a few hours, it takes your mind off the less than ideal world around us. And it has seven doors in the set! That gives you an idea of what's to come,” says director Don K. Williams, Faculty and Head of Performance and Directing at SCC.
With its razor-sharp timing, playful characters, and escalating comic tension, Boeing Boeing promises an evening of pure entertainment for theatre lovers and newcomers alike.
