SCC Commencement Ceremony – May 14, 2026

The formal 2026 Commencement proceedings to recognize all graduating students will take place from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Salt River Fields at Talking Stick, located on the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community near Scottsdale. Gates are open at 5:15 p.m. for graduates and guests. The event will be live-streamed so that all family, friends, and loved ones can attend. Admission is free, and no tickets are required.
Important information for all attendees (graduates, please share this section with your guests!):
Location & Parking:
- Graduates and guests can access free parking via the main entrance at 7555 N. Pima Road, Scottsdale, AZ 85258
- Many visitors will need to park in the overflow parking lot, which is a short walk on uneven surfaces to the stadium. Please plan accordingly.
- While we make every effort to secure ample parking for those with disabilities, these spaces are available on a first-come, first-served basis and tend to fill up fast.
- There will also be drop-off locations near the stadium's main entrance.
Graduate Check-In:
- Takes place between 5:15 - 6:00 p.m. Graduates will proceed to the Pepsi Patio, located on the rooftop. Due to the size and scope of this ceremony, it is critical that all graduating students arrive and check in no later than 6:00 p.m.
Personal Items:
- Graduates, please leave all personal items with your guests (as there’s no place to store items during the ceremony).
Attire:
- Please come dressed in your SCC cap and gown. Green for those earning an Associate's Degree or Certificate of Completion, and Black for those earning their Bachelor of Business Administration - Management. The SCC cap and gown are required in order to participate in the ceremony. Please be sure to wear comfortable shoes, as you will be walking across a grassy field during the ceremony and going up and down stairs.
Guests:
- The gates open at 5:15 p.m. Please plan to arrive and be in your seats by 6:30 p.m. to ensure you don’t miss any part of the ceremony!
- Families and guests, you can pre-order flowers and celebratory items for pick up at the Commencement ceremony (there will be a tent just outside the main entrance).
Important – The following items are not allowed at Commencement:
- Outside food or drink (note: concession stands will be open)
- Air horns
- Confetti and other materials that will leave a mess or be disruptive
- Guns and firearms
Please follow these steps to participate in the May 14, 2026, Commencement ceremony
- Apply for Graduation by April 1, 2026
- Check your Maricopa email account for your invitation to participate and register for Commencement
- Complete the Commencement registration process
- Order your Cap and Gown by April 5, 2026 (instructions in the email)

Grad Bash – April 30, 2026
All students are invited to attend SCC’s special Grad Bash 2026, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Thursday April 30, at the SCC Cafeteria.
Come mingle with your fellow grads, faculty, family, and friends at this awesome event. Graduates can pick up a free t-shirt, have a chance to decorate their caps, and capture moments with our beloved mascot, Artie the Artichoke! Enjoy refreshments, games, and more.
Representatives from Student Affairs will be available to answer all of your questions about the Commencement ceremony.
