It’s time to show off your school spirit and put on your Artichoke gear for all to see! Scottsdale Community College’s Artichoke Spirit Week takes over the campus from Monday, October 19, until Friday, October 23. The entire week will be chock-full of fun events and imaginative ways for you and your friends to celebrate SCC and the best mascot in all of higher education – the one and only Artie the Artichoke!
Monday, October 19
- Artie's Food Fest and Paint the Campus
- SC East Patio 11:45 AM – 1 PM
- Kick off Artichoke Spirit Week with Artie’s Food Fest & Paint the Campus. Participants will paint small canvas pieces centered around Artichoke spirit and then the individual canvasses will be assembled into a collaborate collage. Enjoy a variety of options from local food trucks while helping add color and school spirit to our campus. Come hungry, get creative, and celebrate the Artichoke community together.
Tuesday, October 20
- Community Connections Tuesday Artie's Farmers Market and ClipDart, Disability Resources and Services Connect Fest
- SC East Patio & Cafeteria 11:15 AM – 1 PM
- Stop by Artie’s Farmers Market and ClipDart during Artichoke Spirit Week. Pick up free fresh produce and enjoy a free haircut while supplies and appointments last. Also, connect with campus and community resources at the Disability Resources & Services Connect Fest. Learn about available services, programs, and support designed to help you succeed. Take advantage of these great resources and celebrate wellness, connection, and community on campus.
Wednesday, October 21
- Fighting Artichoke Day: SCC Cafeteria 11:45 AM – 1 PM
- Lunch celebrating our Student-Athletes and our Alumni Fighting Artichokes.
- Be Bold in Green and Gold: Show off your Artichoke spirit in SCC colors or gear!
Thursday, October 22
- Artichoke Spirit Day: Wear a shirt or jersey that represents your club, athletic team or department.
- Artie’s Birthday Bash: 11:45 am - 1 pm SC East Patio
- What’s a birthday celebration without food, lawn games, and music? Join SCC’s clubs and the Council of Student Leaders as we celebrate Artie’s 54th Birthday with fun, festivities, and plenty of Artichoke spirit!
Friday, October 23
- College Day: Proudly wear gear from your alma mater or university you hope to transfer to!
- Game Day in Artie’s Cafe: 10 am - 1 pm Artie’s Cafe
- Trivia, board games, chess, foosball, pool, and more! Stop by Artie’s Cafe Monday-Friday during Spirit Week for an Artichoke-inspired menu item, for purchase.
