Scottsdale Community College (SCC) is proud to announce that several of its faculty and staff were honored with the 2025 Sustainability Leadership Awards during this year’s E.A.R.T.H. Forward event. The awards recognize SCC’s ongoing efforts to make campus life more environmentally conscious and to support sustainability initiatives across the Maricopa County Community College District.
This year’s E.A.R.T.H. Forward theme, Water for Life, brought together students, employees, and community members to explore how sustainability connects with Education, Adaptation, Resilience, Technology, and Humanities. As part of the April 8, 2025, celebration, SCC team members were acknowledged for the meaningful ways they’re helping build a greener future.
Brian Dodge and Anne Kosters were recognized for their contributions to a district-wide sustainability data project. Lori Bold was honored for her work coordinating SCC’s Trip Reduction Program, and Natalie Case was celebrated for her leadership on the Sustainability Committee and her involvement in campus-based sustainability projects.
“These awards reflect SCC’s deep-rooted commitment to creating a sustainable future, not just through policy, but through people and meaningful action,” said Dr. Eric Leshinskie. “It’s an honor to work alongside colleagues who care so deeply about making a difference.”
The Sustainability Leadership Awards are presented annually by the Maricopa Community Colleges Office of Sustainability to recognize individuals and teams making a significant impact. SCC’s honorees represent the district’s People, Planet, and Profit mission, and their work helps push forward a culture of sustainability one small action at a time.
