Artichokes!

Welcome to the Fall 2020 semester at Scottsdale Community College and the many possibilities that await you. Our faculty and staff are all committed to helping you be as successful as possible.

Whether this is your first semester with us or you are continuing your academic journey here, I realize the current situation is not what anyone expected. No matter what challenges may arise in our world, please know that you have complete control over your educational experience. The investments you make in your studies today will help prepare you for greater success tomorrow.

YOU CAN DO THIS! SCC is here to help.

The Most Important Person to Know. Your instructor. Reach out and make a connection today. Whether it’s a question you have now or an issue that arises tomorrow, our faculty can provide the best direction for you.

Learning Online. About 90% of our classes this Fall are being delivered remotely. Some students are new to online learning and others may have reservations about this format. No worries, check out our Online Learning Center which provides info, videos and links to help you get the most out of your online learning experience. SCC has been providing online instruction for 20 years, so you can be assured you will receive a solid education.

In-Person Classes and Your Safety. For those students attending in-person classes, your safety and security is our number one priority. Please familiarize yourself with the extensive measures we’ve put in place based on the most current scientific and public health guidelines, and as required by the Salt River Pima - Maricopa Indian Community, Maricopa County and the Maricopa County Community College District (MCCCD).

New Student at SCC? If so, make sure you complete Artie’s Welcome. This online portal provides specifics about your academic program and introduces you to the faculty who teach your program. It’s a great way to start and get connected here!

Support Services For You. As an SCC student, you have access to an immense amount of no-cost services to help assist your academic experience, including advising, library/research, tutoring, counseling, disability services, and veteran services. There’s also a wide variety of student clubs and organizations, student government and leadership opportunities. It’s up to you to reach out and start. Check them out on the Students page.

Connecting with SCC Remotely. You can access all of our college operations on the SCC Cares page. Our staff is eager to answer your calls and emails.

Finally, you’ve already taken that big, bold step in deciding to continue your education. I’m so thankful you’ve chosen SCC and have complete confidence you will find a rewarding college experience here.
