SCC Planetarium

Discover the Stars at the SCC Planetarium

Explore the Universe—Right Here at Scottsdale Community College

Since opening its doors in 1991, the SCC Planetarium has offered visitors a chance to explore the cosmos from the comfort of campus. This intimate, dome-shaped theater offers an immersive journey through the night sky— powered by a fully analog starball projector that accurately recreates the sky over Scottsdale for any night of any year.

Whether you're a student, stargazer, or simply curious about the cosmos, you'll find each visit an unforgettable, interactive experience.

What Makes Our Planetarium Special?

Analog precision: A perfectly rendered night sky, no matter the date.

Intimate setting: Our dome seats just 24 guests, offering a personal and interactive experience.

Live shows only: No pre-recorded videos here! All shows are live and guided by our expert faculty.

Educational format: Most shows start with a short classroom presentation before entering the dome.

New topics each semester: Come back each term to discover something new.

Always free: Public shows are free, but tickets are required due to limited seating.
