Thank you for your interest in attending Scottsdale Community College. We look forward to assisting you with reaching your educational and professional goals.
Students entering a Maricopa Community College after attending another post-secondary institution may request an evaluation of prior coursework for potential transfer credit. Official transcripts for all previous college-level work must be sent directly from the originating institution to Scottsdale Community College (SCC) Admissions and Records 9000 East Chaparral Road, Scottsdale, AZ 85256-2626.
Please note that transcripts delivered by hand, even if sealed, will not be accepted for evaluation purposes.
The Maricopa Community Colleges will evaluate coursework from institutions listed in the Database of Accredited Postsecondary Institutions and Programs, accredited by recognized U.S. accrediting organizations at the time the coursework was taken. To be “recognized” means that the accreditors in the database have been reviewed by the Council For Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) or by the U.S. Department of Education (USDE) or both and meet the quality standards of the respective organizations. Please refer to 2.2.4 Transfer Credit and Prior Learning Assessment
Equivalencies from several institutions are utilized by all of our campuses and can be viewed in the Transfer Evaluation System (TES). Although new equivalencies are added every day, you may not be able to locate all the courses you have completed. If you are unable to locate a specific equivalency or have questions about applicability, please consult with an Academic Advisor at your campus.
Verify Prerequisites for Transfer
You don't need to send an official transcript to SCC to take a course for transfer to another institution.
Complete the Pre/Corequisite Override Form
Once course prerequisites are verified, we can provide permissions or assist with course registration. You must use your Maricopa credentials (MEID@maricopa.edu & password) to access this form.
Foreign Transcript Evaluations
College-level courses completed outside the United States and recorded on official transcripts will be evaluated for transfer credit, provided that the institution where the courses were taken is accredited by the Ministry of Education in that country. It is the student’s responsibility to submit all foreign and international transcripts to an approved international credential evaluation service to be translated into English (when applicable), evaluated on a course-by-course-basis, and sent directly to the receiving college.
