Scottsdale Community College (SCC) invites audiences to enter a world where shadows breathe and desire turns deadly with Dracula, a haunting theatrical adaptation of Bram Stoker’s immortal novel. Directed by Don K. Williams, the production takes the stage at SCC’s Performing Arts Center this October.
Adapted by acclaimed playwright Steven Dietz, Dracula brings Bram Stoker’s legendary tale of passion, fear, and the supernatural vividly to life. As the mysterious Count Dracula pursues new blood beyond the borders of Transylvania, those drawn into his dark world must confront an ancient evil – and find the courage to resist its seductive power.
"This is a really faithful adaptation of the novel: a novel that is much more like a modern horror movie than most people know. Expect to be frightened!" says director Don K. Williams, Faculty and Head of Performance and Directing at SCC.
Combining razor-sharp wit, gothic atmosphere, and chilling elegance, Dietz’s bold adaptation captures the suspense and sensuality that have made Dracula an enduring classic. With Halloween approaching, SCC’s production offers a fitting opportunity to experience one of literature’s most iconic stories live onstage.
