Starting Fall 2026, Scottsdale Community College is making it easier than ever to get ahead of the curve with the brand-new Foundations of Applied Artificial Intelligence Certificate of Completion, SCC's first-ever AI credential, completable in a single semester.
What is it?
The Foundations of Applied AI certificate is a 9-credit, three-course program built to give you real, practical AI skills you can put to work right away, in your current job, your own business, or wherever your career takes you next. No coding experience required. No computer science background needed. Just a curiosity about AI and a desire to use it well.
Who is it for?
Everyone. Seriously! The program is open to all students and community members, with no prerequisites to enroll. Whether you are a manager trying to navigate new AI tools at work, a business owner looking to streamline operations, a marketer wanting to get more out of data, or a student who wants to be prepared with the most cutting-edge skills when you enter the workforce, this certificate was built with you in mind.
What will you learn?
Across three courses, AI Literacy & Everyday Applications, Applied AI, Agents & Data Basics, and an AI Integration Project, you will build skills that go well beyond the basics. By the end of the program, you will know how to:
- Recognize bias and limitations in AI systems
- Apply AI ethically and responsibly in professional settings
- Use AI to solve real problems in marketing, finance, operations, and customer experience
- Evaluate whether AI-generated information is accurate
