Forensics: Natural Science's Detective
- Date: Wednesday, March 6
- Time: 3:30 - 4:30 pm
- Location: SL 116
Forensics is not a subject of mere assumptions; it's a subject of all the sciences in one puzzle. Presented by JamieLynn Cooner with SCC Forensics Faculty and her service dog Mylah.
Forensic science is not new, but criminal investigation television shows have made forensic science very appealing to many people. However, forensic science is not only for people who want to solve crimes or be involved in the criminal justice system. Forensic science is for anyone interested in any of the sciences, even those who never want to be a cop. Forensic scientists learn to collect, identify, classify, and analyze like other science fields. However, we collect, identify, classify, and analyze evidence related to criminal and civil investigations. Perform tests on weapons or substances, such as fiber, hair, and tissue, to determine the significance, and may testify as expert witnesses in a court of law.
