Students at any college can earn an award (degree or cert) in any of these programs. However, students may need to complete certain courses at other colleges within the District.

Networking and IT security professionals are indispensable in keeping computer networks protected and running smoothly and users safe. They wire offices for high-speed broadband, install and maintain firewalls, monitor security software, support desktop users, and build out custom networks.

Our Networking and Security program can train you to perform tasks associated with network administration and security, computer networks and data communications, and information and data security. Depending on your path, this program can prepare you for the following industry certification exams: Cisco CCNA & CCNP, CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Linux+, RedHat Enterprise Linux, Microsoft, VMware, Amazon Web Services, and IT Help Desk.

Why Scottsdale Community College?

The Network and Systems Administration program is designed to provide the student with training for a variety of positions related to computer systems. Career opportunities include Local Area Network (LAN) administrator, systems analyst and technical support.

The Linux Professional program is designed to help prepare students for a variety of industry-recognized Linux certification exams as well as provide practical hands-on skills for the work place. The program includes a core of Linux classes including Linux operating system basics, System Administration, Network Administration and Network Security. These classes will help develop a student`s knowledge and skill level in preparation for employment or to improve current professional skills. Objectives for a variety of industry certifications are encompassed within course and program objectives.

Most of our courses use low-cost textbooks or no cost material provided by your instructors. General education courses may have textbooks that cost more.
