Department of Applied Arts and Sciences

Introduction

Welcome to Scottsdale Community College’s Department of Applied Arts and Sciences and to the occupational programs that call this department home. A variety of options designed to fit your personal educational needs are at your fingertips. Choose from our programs of study to access information about Associate of Applied Sciences Degrees (AAS), Certificates of Completion (CCL), upgrading professional skills, and/or special interest classes in our uniquely designed courses of study.

Professional Programs and Faculty

All occupational programs in this department are shaped and monitored by Advisory Committees composed of educators and professionals working in the specific occupational field. This “real world input” provides students with an opportunity to learn “real world skills” as they pursue their educational goals. Programs are likewise administered by faculty who have firsthand knowledge of workplace demands and standards.

Students of all ages from around the world, with diverse educational and professional backgrounds, come together in the division of Applied Sciences. Whether you are fresh from high school, returning to school to fulfill a lifelong dream, pursuing a special interest, or honing professional skills, you will find classmates who share your interests and goals.

Residential Faculty and administrative support offices are located in the Applied Sciences (AP) Building at the East end of campus. Stroll through our building; talk with students; contact a Program Director for an appointment.
