Nursing Advising

You have made a great decision to pursue your Nursing education at Scottsdale Community College! SCC participates in the MaricopaNursing program, a consortium of Maricopa community college nursing programs. MaricopaNursing at SCC provides two ways to become a Registered Nurse (RN):

  • Associates of Applied Science in Nursing (AAS): 4-semester program; eligibility to apply for licensure as an RN is granted after completion of AAS degree requirements.
  • Concurrent Enrollment Program (CEP): Fast track your nursing degree to become a registered nurse!

A great resource for all information about the MaricopaNursing program is the Maricopa Community Colleges' MaricopaNursing website. In this section, you will learn about:

  • The Traditional (RN) and Concurrent Enrollment Program (CEP)
  • The steps to apply to a program
  • Where and when you should take the HESI A2
  • Health and safety requirements
  • Where to send previous college and high school transcripts
  • What happens when you apply to a program
  • Advanced Placement and other Nursing program options in the Maricopa Community Colleges.

Connect with a Nursing Advisor

After attending a Nursing Information Session, we invite you to connect with a Nursing academic advisor if you need additional guidance. You can email or schedule a meeting by clicking the "Connect with" buttons below. You will be asked to log into the ConexED system with your Maricopa MEID and password. After scheduling a meeting, check your Maricopa Student Email account for a confirmation email with important details, including the contact information for your Advisor.

Submit Your Nursing Application

All Nursing program applications must be submitted online.

Traditional (RN) Nursing

Before you begin the application, collect copies of all the following documents and put them in electronic form. You will be asked to attach these documents to your application:

  • Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card
  • HESI A2 Math and English Language Composite Scores
  • Nurse Assistant License (if applicable)
  • Unofficial transcripts from non-Maricopa Community College schools that show completion of prerequisite and corequisite courses (if applicable)

Visit Maricopa Nursing to begin your Traditional (RN) Nursing application. Applications are accepted year-round.

CEP Nursing

Before completing the CEP application, you MUST have completed the Traditional (RN) Nursing application. If you have not already submitted that application, do so first.

Collect copies of the following documents and put them in electronic form:

  • The Information Session Declaration, which states you have reviewed the CEP information session PowerPoint and understand the application process
  • HESI A2 test scores
  • Unofficial transcripts from non-Maricopa Community College schools that show completion of prerequisite and corequisite courses (if applicable)
