Scottsdale Community College (SCC) proudly announces that Communication faculty member Voula Popovich has been named a recipient of the 2026 American Association of Community Colleges (AACC) Dale P. Parnell Distinguished Faculty Award, a national honor recognizing outstanding community college educators.

Scottsdale Community College (SCC) has been recognized for college leadership in creative, student-centered learning for Escape the Viral Vortex: A Fact-Checking Escape Room Game, an innovative project developed by Serene Rock and Dr. Michael Dzbenski.

Sue Sandblom was named the 2026 Arthur W. DeCabooter Outstanding Educator of the Year at Scottsdale Community College (SCC) by the Scottsdale Charros, honoring her decades-long commitment to student success, academic excellence, and inspired teaching.

The American Indian Program at Scottsdale Community College, in collaboration with
the Indigenous Student Association club invites all currently enrolled SCC students to
create and submit an original design that the college will use for marketing and
promotional materials. The selected design will support campus visibility, student
engagement, and SCC’s commitment to honoring Native American communities and
voices.

Women’s History Month, observed every March, celebrates the achievements and contributions of women. This national recognition has been designated by every U.S. president since 1987 to honor the contributions women have made to American history in a variety of fields.

Scottsdale Community College (SCC) is thrilled to host the SCC Discovery Day event that promises a day of excitement, exploration, and entertainment. Dubbed "Artie Palooza" in honor of SCC's beloved Artie the Artichoke mascot, this free outdoor festival invites students and prospective students to experience the vibrant SCC campus and discover the wide array of academic programs and student services offered.

Scottsdale Community College (SCC) has been officially designated and re-certified as an Arizona Veteran Supportive Campus by the Arizona Department of Veterans Services (ADVS). The certification, granted in accordance with Arizona Revised Statute Section 41-609, recognizes SCC’s commitment to providing robust support, resources, and programs that contribute to the success of military-affiliated students, including veterans, on campus.
