HIIT, spin, group, boot camp, carb counting, and paleo vs. keto. As the need for fitness, healthy living and preventive health care becomes even more important in the world today, the new fast-track Personal Trainer program at Scottsdale Community College (SCC) helps prepare students to pursue a career as a fitness professional.

In just 24 weeks, students can gain a comprehensive knowledge of human movement science, functional assessment, and program design to help prepare them to pass the certification exams which are typically required for professional employment in the fitness industry.

Students enrolling in SCC’s Personal Trainer program starting in the Fall 2020 semester will be eligible for a savings of approximately $900 on the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM CPT) exam materials, including the book, online learning materials, and two test vouchers.

“Personal trainers can help people transform their body, their health, and sometimes profoundly impact the person's life,” said Robert Martin III, SCC’s Exercise Science, Personal Training & Nutrition Program Director. “Being a personal trainer can be very fulfilling in helping people achieve their goals and extremely fulfilling when you help change their life. Many students who enter into the field talk about their desire to help others.”

Many SCC graduates wish to have their own business and work independently. With a large number of fitness studios, personal trainers can operate their own business without the overhead of having their own facility.

The fast-track Personal Trainer certificate program is the latest addition to SCC’s extensive educational offerings in exercise science, personal training, nutrition, yoga and recreation management. SCC students learn from nationally certified instructors with master’s degrees who will guide your educational experience in developing your personal training knowledge. Students receive a quality education so they can begin their personal training career with confidence.
