The Scottsdale Short Film Festival is the premiere annual event to showcase the creative and technical filmmaking talents of local high school students and students at the Scottsdale School of Film+Theatre.

 

Film Submission Guidelines

  • Submit your film entry by April 20, 2020
  • The winning films will be shown on the big screen during the Scottsdale Short Film Festival, happening May 6, 2020, at Harkins Camelview.
  • Winning high school students receive a free 3-credit-hour course taught by the Scottsdale School of Film+Theatre (a $285 value for each award). 

SCC is offering a free training session "Writing A Successful Short Film" 6 pm, March 19, at the Film School Hub (FSH) Building, taught by Scottsdale School of Film+Theatre Department Chair Bill True. Take advantage of this opportunity to gain valuable filmmaking insights from an industry professional.

The Scottsdale Short Film Festival takes place at 7:30 pm, May 6, 2020, at Harkins Camelview Theatre in Scottsdale Fashion Square Mall. For information, please phone (480) 423-6076.

Tickets are $12 and can be purchased here.

For more than 20 years, the Festival has featured the creative and technical filmmaking talents of students at the Scottsdale School of Film+Theatre. This year, the Festival has been expanded to include award categories specifically for local high school students to recognize their emerging voices.

In addition to viewing all of the winning films, Festival attendees can participate in special commentary and Q&A sessions with SCC faculty members, alumni and industry professionals.

 
April 2 Open House
 

Get to know the Scottsdale School of Film+Theatre by attending a free open house for prospective students and the community. Meet our faculty, advisors, alumni and more, while learning about the many cutting-edge degree and certificate programs being offered. The event takes place 5 to 8 pm, April 2, at SCC’s Film School Hub (FSH) Building.
