Scottsdale Teacher Education Partnership (STEP) Post-Baccalaureate Certification

SCC offers the only 1 year State Board approved post-baccalaureate teacher certification program in the valley at $85.00 per credit hour! Pathways are designed in a hybrid program format which incorporates face-to-face traditional instruction and online learning.

STEP is proud to partner with the Arizona’s Teachers Academy!

The Arizona Teachers Academy’s (ATA) goal is to promote education as a career and bring more qualified individuals into the classroom. Scholarships will be available for SCC STEP candidates.  The scholarship will pay all for tuition costs and course fees. Learn more about eligibility for ATA scholarships.

Two program models are available for candidates to work toward K- 8 certification:

  • Traditional Pathway – One year cohort designed as field-based preparation program that allows candidates to learn to teach by working side by side with teachers and students in elementary and middle school classrooms.
  • Teacher in Residence Pathway – This one year cohort allows candidates to be employed full-time in a classroom while completing required education courses.

SCC works in collaboration with elementary and middle schools across the valley.
