Clubs & Organizations

This organization will be for students, faculty, and staff to engage in acts of kindness to one another and recognize and celebrate those who show acts of kindness. The students of the Artie’s Be Nice Club (ABNC) at Scottsdale Community College, are determined to promote kindness toward others and provide a safe place for students when they need encouragement and community.

DECA prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality, and management in high schools and colleges around the globe. For more information, visit the DECA @ SCC Canvas site.

Collegiate DECA at SCC’s Mission Statement

To give students the opportunity to develop professional and leadership skills for future business careers by developing relationships with business organizations, participating in fund-raising and community service activities, and entering Collegiate DECA competitions at the state and national level.

Open to all students:

• Collegiate DECA holds monthly General Meetings, where we host professional speakers, hold networking activities, and practice competitive events.
• Collegiate DECA participates in one community service activity each semester, such as volunteering at Feed My Starving Children and The Walk to End Alzheimer's Disease.
• Collegiate DECA participates in one fund raising activity each semester.
• Collegiate DECA participates in at least one activity with all other Arizona Collegiate DECA clubs.

Open to members only:

• Collegiate DECA takes monthly industry tours of large employers in our community, such as Amazon Warehouse, KPMG, Go Daddy, Vanguard, Talking Stick Arena, Westin Kierland Resort and PwC.
• Collegiate DECA attends one state conference each semester, where they attend workshops, listen to speakers, and compete in academic competitions.

Meetings are generally held every other week.

CSL is SCC’s form of a student government. They exist to preserve student rights, serve student needs, provide student funding for student activities and clubs, and serve as the official voice of the student body. It also provides opportunities for growth in leadership skills and self-awareness for its members.

For the 23-24 school year, CSL will be meeting in SC-105 from 12:00-1:30 pm every Thursday. There is also a virtual option for participation. Contact the advisor for more details.

This organization was created to benefit the students of the Administration of Justice and the Forensic Science Programs, the college and the community. To create a social environment that is conducive to the expansion of the education experience, and to develop lifelong friendships among those dedicated to the highest standards of the Administration of Justice and Forensic Science.

The club’s purpose is to engage hotel, restaurant management and culinary art students who have a desire for building a career in the hospitality and tourism industry.

This club was formerly known as Sun Earth Alliance Indian Club. It's purpose is to enhance cultural awareness while promoting, planning, and integrating school and community activities that stimulate the growth of American Indian students.

ISA @ SCC is supported by SCC's American Indian Program which provides comprehensive academic and personal support that promotes opportunities for a successful and enhanced college experience for the American Indian student.

The mission of the Indoor Rock Climbing Club is to promote fitness and wellness while teaching the sport and fundamentals of indoor rock climbing.

The Latino Student Association exists to unify Scottsdale Community College students interested in Latino culture and issues. It exists to promote and support academic excellence and the pride that accompanies the knowledge of self and culture. It exists to provide both social and educational opportunities for the members of the association as well as for the larger Scottsdale Community College student body in an effort to foster greater understanding of Latino culture and heritage.

The purpose of this club shall be to ally the Queer Community and Straight communities at SCC as well as celebrate each and every Queer identity amongst SCC students. Our mission is to:

• Provide a safe place for Queer students to meet, support, and discuss with each other issues related to gender and sexuality, and to educate themselves and the broader school community about gender and sexuality issues.
• Serve as a bridge between the Queer communities of Scottsdale Community College.
• Provide a constructive forum where members can express themselves without fear of retaliation, or without binding claim to gender identity or sexual orientation.
• Work together to increase understanding and acceptance of Queer individuals within society.

The M.E.N. chapter at SCC exists to support male students in their personal, educational and professional goals. This is done by building and connecting to campus and community resources. We seek to educate, develop and encourage male students on their individual and shared paths. In return our members contribute to the campus and outside community through service and engagement.

This organization is the honor society for the two-year college. Membership is extended to students who have completed 12 credits hours in 100-level or higher coursework and maintained a minimum 3.5 GPA. The four guiding hallmarks are scholarship, leadership, service and fellowship.

The club’s purpose it to enhance the student’s understanding of the present and future scope of the interior design practice.

The chess club is a place for students to meet people, play chess, and learn more about the game. All ability levels are welcome to join the chess club.

This club is intended to be a community among filmmakers and film enjoyers alike and to create a space to share films and take part in film related activities.

To cultivate fun and positive experiences where students are able to interact with their peers, share information and ideas, volunteer, and educate others about fitness and nutrition.

To be a vehicle to actively involve all SCC students in Wildlife Education, Botany, Ecology, Conservation, Preservation, Restoration, and Biodiversity of Arizona; to facilitate student learning about SCC’s efforts to conserve and restore biodiversity of native plants, wildlife, and ecosystems by becoming active in community projects, wildlife education and research; to educate the public about the vital role we all play in being stewards of wildlife and ecosystems; and to give students a greater understanding and appreciation of the interdependent relationships, diversity, and beauty of our home, the natural wildlife habitats of Arizona, especially our Sonoran Desert.

The mission of the Women in Film & Theater Club is to promote and celebrate women's contributions in the field of film and theater, encourage and provide industry education, create career opportunities, and foster a sense of community support among women interested in these areas.

The mission is to empower women by inspiring them to pursue higher education while developing a sisterhood that embraces the triumphs of past, present and future sisters.

Meetings will be scheduled at the beginning of the semester, based on the availability of members.
