Department of Art

Scottsdale Community College Art Department has a vision of student-centered learning and success. We are committed to serving our diverse community by offering a high-quality art education. We offer studio classes in painting, drawing, photography and wood and metal sculpture, as well as our award-winning Visual Communications program. In Visual Communications students can pursue Associate Degrees that transfer to a University, or a variety of Certificates in Visual Communications that will launch a career in design, digital print or creative branding. Scottsdale Community College is an excellent option when looking to start an academic career in the arts. We are more affordable than most regional Universities. We have exemplary studio spaces and instructors who are dedicated teachers with decades of teaching experience. At Scottsdale Community College, you can complete your art foundations courses with instructors who have been teaching for 5, 10 or even 20 years, not grad students who were assigned a class two weeks before the start of the semester. Our adjunct instructors are also professionals working in the fields they teach classes on. When it comes to learning, experience matters.
