The Writing Center is an assistive facility ? not a teaching facility.

Writing Center services are available to all SCC students currently enrolled in any for credit course requiring submission of English compositions or SCC students needing foreign language tutoring.  Our services include:

    ? Assistance with writing assignments for all classes
    ? Foreign language tutoring (must be enrolled in a foreign language class)
    ? Reference materials for writing and research
    ? Computers for:
        ?  working through grammar drills
        ?  practicing foreign language skills
        ?  conducting research
        ?  typing papers
    ? The Tandberg Foreign Language Lab
    ? Handouts on many English and computer subjects  
    ? Make-up viewing of class videos

Note:  the Writing Center is not a teaching facility ? the Writing Center exists to help students resolve problems encountered in the course of writing assignments or creating such assignments on Mac or PC computers.
Students are expected to have basic computer skills; those lacking such skills should enroll in a concurrent class in Computer Fundamentals to acquire them as Writing Center staff may not be able to assist such students.
