Mainstage public productions are offered throughout the year as part of SCC's Theatre Arts program.

Actors are selected through open auditions and any SCC student, full or part-time, day or evening, is eligible to participate.
Technicians, managers and student design positions are open to any SCC student and applications are accepted for work in the areas of sets, lights, sound, props, costumes, makeup, house, box office, publicity and stage management.
Students can earn academic credit for their participation in play production by enrolling in THP 201AA. This 1-credit course can be repeated 4 times. There are no books, no papers, no tests nor even regular class meetings. Students earn their credit by working on the production and satisfactorily completing their production assignment. There are separate sections for actors and technicians, and all students are under faculty and staff supervision. THP 201AA is recommended for participation in play production and transfers to state universities as department electives.
SCC is an active participant in the Kennedy Center/American College Theatre Festival which offers students additional opportunities for special recognition, awards, scholarships and professional networking.
All plays are produced in conjunction with the SCC theatre student club, ImageMakers
