Auditions--
When: Monday, September 13, 2010 - 3:30pm-6pm or Tuesday, September 14 - 6:30pm-9pm (by appointment only)
Where: The Peridot Room SC Building (Student Center)
Who's Eligible: All SCC students (minimum SCC enrollment - THP 201AA, 1 credit hour)
Presented by: SCC Theatre Arts Program
Directed by: Boyd Branch, Guest Artist and SCC Adjunct Faculty
Production dates: October 28-30, November 5-6, 2010
Rehearsals: Begin Monday, September 20 at 6pm and continue Monday - Friday (no Wednesday) from 6-10pm. Saturdays from 9am-1pm. All rehearsals/performances take place on SCC campus.
Cast needs: 5 men, 5 women
How to audtion: Attend one of the preliminary audition sessions. Bring one 2-minute contemporary memorized monologue and headshot (or snapshot) and resume. You MUST CALL (480) 423-6356 for an audition appointment.
Callbacks: By invitation only. Wednesday, September 15 - 3:30pm-6:30pm. Callbacks will consist of cold readings from the script along with individual and group movements and interviews. Dress in loose clothes - be ready to move.
Observers: Observers are welcome at the auditions. Callbacks are closed. No observers allowed.
Technical needs: Applications for technical positions will be available at the audition sign up area.
Other: All ages, sizes, genders, ethnicities, and levels of experinece are encouraged to audition!

About the Play: Rhinoceros is an absurdist’s play about what it means to be an individual in society. Berenger is a common everyman who happens to live in a city where everyone starts turning into rhinoceroses.
The play is cleverly written and filled with slapstick and dry humor. Ensemble roles will require strong, dynamic and physical performers, so dancers with or without acting experience are highly encouraged to audition.
