Instructors Information
1. The Testing Center provides a secure testing environment for students unable to test in the classroom due to an excused absence from class, and students accommodated with additional testing time through the Disability Resources and Services Office. We request that students who have a communicable disease such as chicken pox or strep throat complete make-up testing after they are no longer contagious.
2. The Testing Center is unable to accommodate testing for an entire class or comprehensive make-up finals.
3. All instructors must fill out an Instructor Exam Request Form with specific instructions as to how to the test is to be administered by our office. This information will include test name, time limits*, aids allowed, special instructions, student names, test deadlines, etc. Please duplicate this form as necessary. If test answers need to be put on an answer sheet such as a scantron form, please include the answer sheets with the tests. Please include the instructor's name on all tests and answer sheets submitted to the Testing Center. *If the test time limit is not indicated on the Instructor Exam Request Form, the test will be administered with no time limit imposed.
4. All tests must be submitted to the Testing Center by the instructor or a department staff member. The most secure method of submission is in person. If tests are submitted via campus mail, FAX machine, or email; a completed Instructor Exam Request Form must be included. If an exam is emailed, a phone call advising Testing Center staff of its submission is recommended. The Testing Center is unable to accept tests that are submitted by students. Exams can be emailed to testing@sccmail.maricopa.edu
5. Any changes to exam instructions, including test deadlines, must be communicated to the Testing Center by the instructor. The Testing Center will not administer any exams after the deadline indicated on the Instructor Exam Request Form without prior permission from the instructor.
6. Photo identification is required for all testing. Enrolled students may obtain a student ID card in the Student Activities office. We will also accept a current driver?s license or passport.
7. Students are issued a locker to secure personal items. Cell phones, pagers and other wireless communication devices are not allowed in the testing room and must be turned off while stored in Testing Center lockers. Cell phone calculators are not allowed in the testing room.
8. Students should check the Testing Services Schedule and allow themselves ample time to test. All tests will be collected ten minutes prior to closing time. This allows the testing staff time to secure testing materials and perform necessary closing tasks. If a student insists on testing with less than time limit allowed by their instructor, they will be asked to initial a note at the top of their test that indicates the time the test will be collected.
9. If questions arise or there is anything we can do to assist you or your students, please call 480-423-6433. Thank you and have a great semester!
