SCC English as a Second Language Endorsement

The following courses leading to an ESL Endorsement are offered at SCC.
All courses are three credits

• ENG 213 The Study of Language (Linguistics)
• EDU 225 Foundations of Approaches to Serving English Language Learners (ELL)
• EDU 230 Cultural Diversity in Education
• EDU 240 Structured English Immersion (SEI) and English as a Second Language (ESL) Teaching Methods
• EDU 243 Reading and Writing in a Structured English Immersion (SEI) and English as a Second Language (ESL) Setting
• EDU 246 Teaching and Assessment of English Language Learners (ELL)
• EDU 247 Practicum for Structured English Immersion (SEI)/English as a Second Language (ESL) Teachers *
  * Practicum is not required if teacher submits two years of verified ESL or bilingual teaching experience (verified by district superintendent) to the Arizona Department of Education.
