Cycling to SCC

Scottsdale, Arizona is excellent for cycling because our abundant sunshine and mild winter temperatures make year-round cycling both possible and enjoyable. Maricopa County, where Scottsdale is located, has adopted a plan to expand cycling travel throughout the county. The plan includes a commitment to improve some 830 miles of county roadways for bicycle transportation. Additionally, several of the cities and towns in the county have bicycle programs that are adding and improving bike paths in their own municipalities.

You will find many well-marked and maintained bike paths throughout Scottsdale and the surrounding area. In fact, there are several bike paths originating in other cities and towns that feed into the bike path that leads you directly to the Scottsdale Community College campus! We here at SCC provide information and suggestions to current and future cyclists to help make your riding experience enjoyable and safer. For your convenience, Bike maps are available at the SCC Welcome & Information Center located in the NU building near the main entrance of the campus and in the Student Life and Leadership Office, SC185.

Bicycle Parking
  • Park only in places where bike racks are located.
  • Bikes should only be locked to bike racks. Do not use trees, poles, railings, fences, signs, etc.
  • Bikes may not be parked in buildings.
  • Illegally parked bikes create problems and inconvenience for people, damage property, and generally constitute a hazard. They may be removed by College Safety if safety risk is great.
