Benefits of Online Teaching

Compensation for Teaching a Fully Online Course*

This section is currently under revision.

Compensation for Course Development (Prior to Class Going Online)

One-time compensation for developing an Online course (if available) will be equivalent to course credits (i.e., development for a 3-credit hour course would receive 3-credit hours compensation for the Online course development). Compensation will not be retroactive. All faculty requesting development projects must obtain prior approval from the appropriate Dean or Vice President.

  Also, E-Learning provides opportunities to:

  • Address various learning styles to enhance student learning
  • Provide underserved student populations with learning access
  • Develop a highly marketable skill set
  • Take advantage of a wide variety of teaching and learning resources on the Internet
  • Provide additional flexibility for instructors and students
  • Reduce classroom space required
  • Provide updated copies of course materials (including syllabi) -- electronically
  • Provide student access to grades -- 24/7

There are many other benefits that E-Learning provides. What are some of the aspects that appeal to you?
