PopulationIn a research study, all relevant observations that could be made if there were unlimited time and resources to do so. In general, a population is the group of all individuals of interest to researchers (such as all people with schizophrenia for researchers testing a theory about the development of schizophrenia). Because populations typically are very large, researchers observe a smaller sample of individuals derived from the population. |
