To have a firmly held belief in something (a supernatural entity, paranormal phenomena, the doctrines of a religion, etc.) derived from an intuitive process that makes use of mystical experiences (whether experienced by self or others) rather than from a deliberative process that uses reason to examine and evaluate empirical evidence.
