Biological TherapyA treatment designed to change the biological functioning of the body in order to produce more adaptive behavior and less suffering. In the treatment of mental disorders, biological therapies are designed to change the functioning of the brain. Biological therapies include drugs, surgery, and stimuli (such as light in the treatment of seasonal affective disorder) thought to change biological processes in the brain. |
