Who is eligible to become an Associate Member of PSA?

Any regular employee who is Governing Board approved and whose work week is from 20 to 40 hours inclusive in length, and whose job is identified under listed classifications in the MCCD classification system, and whose salary is funded 50% or more from internal funds is considered Professional Staff personnel.

What are the benefits to becoming an Associate Member of PSA?

Benefits of becoming an Associate Member include:

• Unity and strengthening of Professional Staff employees as a group
• To secure and maintain salaries, working conditions, benefits and policies
• Being part of a collective voice
• Workshops, training, professional development opportunities and social events
• Reimbursement for Covey Training courses
• Ability to request legal assistance regarding employment matters
• Representation on districtwide/collegewide committees
• Eligible to serve as officer or representative at District and/or campus level

How much are the annual dues?

Annual dues for the 2007-2008 fiscal year (July 1-June 30) are:

• $15.00 for District PSA
• $5.00 for SCC PSA campus

Dues are collected September 1 through December 31 each year.  Dues are half of the above amounts for eligible employees who begin employment after January 1.
