Online (Internet) Courses

Online courses do not have classroom meetings.  They are designed for highly motivated, self disciplined, technology-literate students. Course instruction, activities, and assignments are completed online.  Most contact with the instructor is through email.  Exams may require onsite attendance.  Some courses are accelerated or offer staggered start dates.  Online courses are available in many academic areas, and are flagged with an OL notation in the printed schedule.

Virutally all online courses use Blackboard as the web-based course management system that is used to deliver the content and provide the communication tools for student and faculty use.

Hybrid (HB) Courses

Hybrid courses blend face-to-face instruction with online instruction and activities, often resulting in a reduced number of classroom meetings. Regular Internet access is required, since many course materials and communications will be delivered through a web-based system called Blackboard.  Basic computer skills are required. These courses are flagged with an HB notation in the printed course schedule.

Most Hybrid courses utilize the Blackboard course management system.
