SCC's Veterans Day Event

“Remember, Honor and Thank our Military Veterans” ~ Scottsdale Community College Veterans Day Awareness 2008

 

Scottsdale, AZ (October 20, 2008) – Community members are cordially invited to join Scottsdale Community College’s faculty, staff, and students for SCC’s Veterans Appreciation program -- “Remember, Honor and Thank Our Military Veterans” on Wednesday, November 5, 2008 from 11:30am - 12:30pm at Scottsdale Community College, 9000 E. Chaparral Rd., Scottsdale.

We know veterans never forget their time serving in the military.  Please help us acknowledge your service!  If you are a veteran, please come and be recognized.  

 

Event activities will include:

 

  • Colors posted by SCC alumnus Sean Kemp, First Lieutenant, Army National Guard
  • National Anthem performed by Jacqueline Dunford, SCC Music student
  • “Battle Hymn of the Republic” by SCC’s A Cappella Choir
  • Native American blessing and flute presentation by SCC faculty members
  • Welcome by SCC’s president, Dr. Jan Gehler
  • Guest speaker from Congressman Harry Mitchell’s office
  • Recognition of veterans
  • Scholarship presentation
  • Refreshments

 

SCC’s Veteran’s Day event is sponsored by the Veteran's Office, Diversity Committee, and the Student Life & Leadership office at Scottsdale Community College.
