Scottsdale Community College Presents… Skeletal Ruckus
~ Behind closed mouths and inside quiet bodies there are skeletons in motion that unveil the resonant din of human souls ~
Scottsdale, AZ (November 17, 2008) – Scottsdale Community College is proud to present Skeletal Ruckus – a dance concert for audiences of all ages. Skeletal Ruckus is hosted by the Scottsdale Community College Dance Department at the SCC campus, 9000 E. Chaparral Rd.
Skeletal Ruckus is a collaborative dance event by the three resident dance companies at Scottsdale Community College -- Instinct Dancecorps, SCC Moving Company, and S.A.J.E (Scottsdale Arizona Jazz Ensemble). This collaborative dance event is guaranteed to be a riveting evening of entertainment for everybody.
Performances will be held outside at SCC’s Flagpole area east of the library. Please dress warmly and bring a blanket if desired. Hot chocolate will be served.

Instinct Dancecorps will be performing works by Carley Conder, Angela Rosenkrans, and guest choreographers Mark and Solveig Santillano. The SCC Moving Company will be performing works by Angela Rosenkrans, Lisa Thorngren and guest artist Danna Parker. Scottsdale Arizona Jazz Ensemble will be performing works by Jennifer McKusick and guest choreographer Nathan Berry.
In tradition of SCC Dance productions, Skeletal Ruckus will consist of original compositions of athleticism and artistry in many dance genres. Arizonians will not want to miss this remarkable performance!

The Dance Program at Scottsdale Community College is one of the finest dance programs in the Southwest, offering a range of classes from recreational dance for non-majors and community members to serious training for those who are pursuing a career in the dance field. The SCC Dance Program supports three dance companies that require rigorous training and rehearsal commitments. The companies focus on unique aspects of dance, and create unparalleled opportunities for students. Each year the companies are invited to participate in the American College Dance Festival, and they perform several times throughout the season. SCC Dance has been the Gala winner at the Northwest Regional American College Dance Festival for the last four years, Innovators of the Year for Multimedia productions, and recipient of fourteen Vibrant Arts Grants. SCC Dance is the largest dance program in the Maricopa County Community College District.
