Love?s Many Faces Takes the Stage on July 11th and 12th at 7pm
~July Performances mark the Culmination of Summer Training for SCC Theatre Arts Program~
Scottsdale, AZ (July 10, 2007) ? The Scottsdale Conservatory Theatre is SCC?s intensive professional theatre training program, which runs six weeks during the summer. The nationally-recognized theatre program is now in its 20th season.
The department?s current production?Love?s Many Faces, inspired by Shakespeare?s A Midsummer Night?s Dream?marks a return to the theatre?s collaboration with Scottsdale Center for the Arts. Love?s Many Faces will be performed at Theatre 4301, located at 4301 N. Scottsdale Road.
Students in the summer program earn 12 hours of college credit. Twenty-five students are currently enrolled in classes which cover a variety of areas: Voice and Diction, Stage Movement, Improvisation, Mask Work, Scene Study, Text Analysis, Career Development ? all of which culminate in a full-length production at Theatre 4301 in downtown Scottsdale.
Nine faculty members, guest artists, and master teachers make the SCC Theatre Arts Program unlike any other in Arizona. There have been three directors of the program since its inception: Pamela Fields founded and created the program in 1987 and was Director for many years; Tracy Williams, faculty member for 18 years was also Director for many years; and this year marks Randy Messersmith?s first year as Director, following 17 years as adjunct faculty for the department.
Performances of Love's Many Faces are scheduled for July 11th and 12th at 7pm. Tickets are a suggested donation of $10.
