Photography Exhibit at ArtSpace on Sixth to Showcase Scottsdale Community College Student Images – December 21 through January 2
Scottsdale, AZ (December 7, 2009) – Take a quick break from the last-minute holiday shopping and take in some fine art at ArtSpace on Sixth as SCC’s Portrait Photography students exhibit their most recent images from the fall semester.
The exhibit will run from December 21, 2009 through January 2, 2010.
“This media-independent (film or digital) class is all about the creative process,” said Roger Palmenberg, portrait photography instructor at SCC. “The class culminates in a final portfolio for each participant suitable for presentation to potential clients, advertising agencies, and fine art galleries.”
ArtSpace on Sixth gallery owner, Davin Lavikka, an accomplished professional photographer, is hosting the SCC exhibition, which is free of charge and open to the public. An artists’ reception will be held on Tuesday December 29th from 6-9:00pm.
Participants in Palmenberg’s class include professional and advanced amateur photographers wanting to advance their skills. They learn basic studio lighting and advanced outdoor lighting to achieve dramatic, expressive portraits. Lectures on the business of photography are included in the class to assist participants who wish to ‘go professional’.
