Scottsdale Community College Theatre Arts Presents the Arizona Premiere of

DISTRACTED

--a new play by Lisa Loomer

Scottsdale, AZ (September 22, 2009) – Nine year old Jesse can’t sit still.  He curses, he raps, and he's loud.  Teachers tell Jesse’s ‘Mama’ that he probably has Attention Deficit Disorder, threatening to stick him in Special Ed if his behavior doesn’t change.  Mama consults a psychologist, a homeopath, a neuropsychologist -- and even her very distracted neighbors (who have their own problems).  For full story, click here: Distracted

Students in SCC’s Yoga Teacher Training Program Develop Strength, Flexibility – and New Careers Paths

Scottsdale, AZ (September 2, 2009) – Walking into one of SCC’s yoga classes is like walking into another world -- where pressures, responsibilities, and deadlines are a figment of one’s imagination.  Shoes - and the day’s stresses - are quietly left at the door.   Yet anyone who practices asana--the physical practice of yoga, will agree that yoga is hard work.  It is physically demanding, requires concentration, and often pushes practitioners to the limits of their flexibility.  For full story, click here:  Yoga Teacher Training Program at SCC.

DISTRACTED by Lisa Loomer

Scottsdale, AZ (August 26, 2009) -- Distracted is a fast-paced and disarmingly funny look at parenting in the age of the Internet and Ritalin. In this Arizona premiere, a contemporary American mom reaches out to teachers, psychotherapists, and neighbors to figure out if Attention Deficit Disorder is the root of her son's problems. Everyone is distracted—even the actors are breaking character!  For full story, click here:  Audition Notice for "Distracted"
