Maricopa Community Colleges Among Nation’s Top Degree Producers

The Art Department at Scottsdale Community College presents the 10th Annual Drawing Exhibition

Scottsdale, AZ (June 29, 2009) – Come take in some fantastic fine art at SCC’s 10th Annual Drawing Exhibition, August 28 through September 24, 2009 on the SCC campus.  Drawings, primarily charcoal, will be featured in the exhibit.  Under the direction of Robert You, artists have created works of art not to be missed.  For full story, click here:  10th Annual Drawing Exhibition.

 



Scottsdale Community College Men’s Athletics Director, Art Becker, Presented with Under Armour Athletics Director of the Year Award by NACDA

Scottsdale, AZ (June 25, 2009) – The National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) recently announced the 29 winners of the Under Armour Athletics Director of the Year Award.  SCC’s Men’s Athletic Director, Art Becker, was among the list of distinguished recipients of the award, presented at NACDA’s 44th Annual Convention on June 20. Tribal Summit Brings Together Statewide Representatives

Maricopa Community Colleges Launch New Email System

SCC Men’s Baseball Sets Record

The Battle is On!  The Film School @ SCC and Full Sail University Film School Compete in the Sarah Darling Film School Music Video Project

Maricopa Colleges Provide Conference Opportunity for Unemployed, Furloughed Technicians

G.I. Bill Information Workshop ~ Saturday, June 6 at Arizona National Guard Headquarters

Community College Gears up for 39th Annual Commencement May 15

Scottsdale, AZ (May 13, 2009) – Scottsdale Community College is gearing up for its 39th Annual Commencement Ceremony, Friday May 15 at 7pm in the main gymnasium.  A large crowd is expected to attend the ceremony to watch 195 graduates walk in the ceremony, and a live broadcast is planned for the south gymnasium.  For full story, click here:  Commencement 2009.



Federal Economic Stimulus Means More Money for Students

Local Refugee Families Visit Children’s Museum of Phoenix with SCC’s International Education Students and Staff

 

Scottsdale, AZ (May 7, 2009) – Students and staff from SCC’s International Education program participated in a community service project the weekend of May 2.  In collaboration with the International Rescue Committee (www.theirc.org), a group that helps resettle refugees in the Phoenix area--many from war torn areas of the globe, the SCC group hosted several refugee families for an afternoon of fun at the Children’s Museum of Phoenix.  For full story, click here:  SCC Hosts Museum Outing for Local Refugee Families.



SCC’s International Education Students Fold 1,000 Paper Cranes to be Displayed at Children’s Peace Monument in Hiroshima as a Wish for Peace

Scottsdale, AZ (May 6, 2009) – To support the Children’s Peace Monument in Hiroshima, SCC’s International Education department embarked on a project to create 1,000 paper cranes to be shipped to the monument in Japan as SCC’s wish for peace.  SCC Supports Children's Peace Monument.

SCC’s Interior Design Students Receive Top Honors and Prize Money at Maricopa County Home Show
