Graphic Design Students Receive Awards

Scottsdale Community College Graphic Design Students Receive National Awards from PIAZPaige Lock

 

Scottsdale, AZ (February 17, 2009) – SCC’s graphic design students were lauded for their design talents at the 7th Annual Print Excellence Awards Gala on Friday, January 30, sponsored by the Printing Industries Association, Inc. of Arizona (PIAZ).

 

SCC student Paige Lock, a 2nd year Graphic Design student, took top honors in the Best of Category – Students, a category that represents all studentClaudia Valles and schools.  Lock also received a Gold award for a brochure she developed for Coeur d'Alene Spa and Golf Resort.  Lock plans to work as a graphic designer after graduating from SCC. She is currently interning with Render Films.

 

Danielle Pajak, also a 2nd year Graphic Design student, won a Gold award for her poster Souvia Teas.  Claudia Valle, a 2nd year student, won a Silver award for her Sony Style Photo Guide. 

 

Also winning certificates of merit at the Gala were: Leif Grunberger, Jack JohnDanielle Pajakson, Hung Ly, Kevin Moore, Anna Murphy, Lauren Nicole-Popich and Steve Crompton.    

 

Judges for the competition were national printing and color specialists from across the country who were in town in December for the Color Management Conference. Awards will be on display in the Art Building.
