SCC’s East Valley Photo Club to Host Monthly Speaker Series
Scottsdale, AZ (February 11, 2009) – Julie Knapp, Journalism faculty member and advisor of SCC’s student newspaper—the Scottsdale Chronicle, has created a new club that brings photography students and pros together for networking and learning – the East Valley Photo Club. Membership in the Club is made up of SCC students and community members, with expertise ranging from point-and-shoot members to professionals.
“This club is set up for students and campus members to be able to mingle with community members,” said Knapp. “It has been great to let our students meet other amateurs and professionals.”
The East Valley Photo Club has scheduled a number of speakers this semester to present on topics reflecting their areas of expertise. The meetings are held at the SCC campus. They are free and open to anyone interested in all forms of photography.
January’s speakers were David and Diane Reesor who talked about their African trips and showed their photographs of leopards an d other predators in the African bush.
