Maricopa Colleges Attend College Education Fair on April 8
Scottsdale, AZ (March 17, 2009) – The Maricopa Community Colleges will attend a College Fair April 8 at the Phoenix Downtown Library auditorium hosted by the Arizona Education Consortium. The event is free and open to the public, and will allow the public to speak directly with representatives from dozens of colleges and universities, as well as gather program information. Traditional campus and online formats will be represented.
“The AEC College Fair is in direct response to increased interest in the benefits of a college education for high school graduates as well as returning adults and graduate students,” said Steve Swatzell, AEC vice president and director of operations at the University of the Incarnate Word. He said AEC and general scholarship information will also be available.
The College Fair will be held 11:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 8. The Phoenix Downtown Library is located at 1221 North Central Avenue in Phoenix.
Chandler-Gilbert Community College, GateWay Community College, Glendale Community College, Mesa Community College, Phoenix College, Rio Salado College, Scottsdale Community College and South Mountain Community College will be represented at the event. Also attending are representatives from universities such as Arizona State University, Grand Canyon University, Northern Arizona University, the Keller Graduate School of Management, the University of Phoenix, and Western International University.
Topics such as how to pay for education, transfer opportunities, degree and career options, and academic advising will be also addressed at the College Fair.
Comprised of community colleges, state universities, and private institutions of higher learning, the AEC is a non-profit organization dedicated to increasing awareness of all facets of higher education in Arizona. All member schools are regionally accredited institutions.
