Scottsdale Community College Theatre Arts Announces Auditions for…

Scottsdale, AZ (August 26, 2009) -- Distracted is a fast-paced and disarmingly funny look at parenting in the age of the Internet and Ritalin. In this Arizona premiere, a contemporary American mom reaches out to teachers, psychotherapists, and neighbors to figure out if Attention Deficit Disorder is the root of her son's problems. Everyone is distracted—even the actors are breaking character!

 

When:                          Tuesday, September 8th 3pm -6pm

                                    Wednesday, September 9th   3pm-6pm

                                   

Where:                         Turquoise Room SC-164 (Student Center)

 

Who’s eligible:             All SCC students: minimum SCC enrollment:

                                    THP 201AA Section

 

Presented by:              SCC Theatre Arts Program

 

Directed by:                 Randy Messersmith, Theatre Arts Director

 

Production dates:        October 29 -31,  2009  and Nov 5-7th ,2009

                                    To be performed at Theatre Artists Studio

 

Rehearsals:                  Begin September 14 with a read through and continue

                                    Mondays through Thursdays 6-10pm at SCC.

There will be one Saturday technical rehearsal.

 

Cast needs:                  6 women, 2 men, 1 boy

 

How:                            By APPOINTMENT ONLY.  Sign up sheet in Faculty Office Building or call 480-423-6356 for an appointment.  Auditions require one contemporary monologue not to exceed 2 minutes.

 

Callbacks:                    BY INVITATION ONLY. Thursday; September 10, 3-6pm.

Callbacks will consist of cold readings from the script.

 

Observers:                   Observers are welcome at the Auditions.  Callbacks are closed, no observers allowed.

 

Technical needs:         Applications for technical positions will be available at the Audition.

 

All interested students regardless of experience are urged to participate!
