Scottsdale Community College Offers New Online Alcohol Law Certification Course for Bartenders and Servers
Scottsdale, AZ (January 26, 2009) – New liquor laws are just around the corner. For those who serve alcohol in Arizona, SCC’s new course will be a valuable source of information.
Scottsdale Community College’s Hospitality Division now offers an online alcohol certification course, approved by the State of Arizona Department of Liquor Licenses and Control. The alcohol law course, normally taught in a four-hour classroom format, is now offered online.
Knowledge of alcohol law in Arizona is required by anyone serving alcoholic spirits, such as licensees, managers, bar staff, and servers. The new laws will be effective in July and will require stricter compliance. This course is recommended to ensure that servers understand the responsibilities and consequences when serving their guests.
The online course begins every two weeks and allows students two weeks to complete. Once completed the student/server receives a state approved certification.
For information about the program or to sign up, go to http://plone.scottsdalecc.edu/alcohol-edu
Classes will begin as early as January 26th.
