2009 Fine Arts Day at SCC

SCC’s Fine Arts Day to Showcase Educational Opportunities in the Arts

 

Scottsdale, AZ (March 23, 2009) – Experience the world of art in real time!  Don’t miss SCC’s 3rd Annual Fine Arts Day, April 16, 2009 from 6pm-8pm (and 10am–12pm for Music) at Scottsdale Community College, 9000 E. Chaparral Rd.  The event is free and open to the publicFine Arts Day 1.

 

Fine Arts Day is an interactive, experiential walking tour of the following Fine Arts departments:  The Film School, Communication, Art, Theatre, and Music.  Activities include:

 

  • Interactive sidewalk mural (guests are invited to add their artistic touch!)
  • Design your own personal Ferro Glyph to take home – see your design cut, bent, and welded in steel!
  • Demonstration of sculpture creation and beginning welding techniques
  • Screening of classic films
  • Rising Stars workshop presented by SCC Theatre Arts (improv and stage combat)
  • Music performances by the SCC Jazz Combo, Community Orchestra, Guitar Ensemble, Trombone Choir, Cello Choir, SCC Choir, and more!
  • Studio recording demos and electronic music demos
  • Film, Radio & TV studio operations, including green screen and control room operations, screenwriting lab, and equipment used to make movies including various cameras, sound equipment, and editing equipment.
