Student Audio and Video Trade-in Tape Policies

LISTENING AND VIEWING AREAS

Individual carrels are located in the  NE section of the Library for audio cassette and videotape previewing. These carrels are designed for individuals to use with headsets. For viewing by larger groups of students we have a preview room that will accommodate up to six viewers.

AUDIO/VIDEO TAPE CHECKOUT

Student Trade-in Tapes

The Media Center uses a revolving system for tape checkout. Students will bring a new blank tape to exchange for the lesson they desire.  They may be returned and exchanged for the next tape in the series. PLEASE REWIND TAPES WHEN FINISHED.

The tapes are pre-made so you will not be receiving the recorded information back on the tape you bring in. This elimates the need for waiting as the tape is being duplicated.  Your blank tapes will be used to make more tapes.

AUDIO/VIDEO TAPE REQUIREMENTS

When bringing in blank audio cassette tapes, they must be NEW and 90 minutes in length. Video tapes must be NEW VHS120. We accept the following major brands - MAXELL; TDK, SONY, MEMOREX, SCOTCH (3M), FUJI, BASF, and Radio Shack SUPER TAPE.

**HOW TO PROPERLY USE THE AUDIO TAPES**

Some tapes have information on both sides. Listen to side one and when the audio is finished, stop the tape, flip it over and rewind to the beginning. Push play to start side two, there may be a slight pause on either side before the audio begins.

Tapes are also available for sale
