Education Abroad

Education abroad can be an enriching and eye-opening experience, where learning extends to the world beyond the classroom walls. There is no substitute for living and studying in a foreign country if you want to gain an in-depth knowledge of another culture's customs, people and language. There are many different programs available and there is one out there for each and every person interested in experiencing foreign study, work, or service learning.

In summer 2009, SCC is excited to offer education abroad programs to Australia and the British Isles! Click on the country to learn more about you can expect while there!

Over the two past summers, the International Education Programs office offered six different education abroad programs led by SCC's very own instructors to four different countries.  Our programs included Native American and Aboriginal arts in Australia, Photography and Interior Design in Paris, Photography and Contemporary Cinema in Prague, and Spanish Language and Culture in Costa Rica! Check out the web pages to learn more about what the students experienced and saw!

Maricopa Education Abroad Programs are just one of the many options from which you can choose. What's great about these Maricopa college-sponsored programs is that they are exciting opportunities to study abroad and earn college credit at the same time! Our colleges offer a wide array of programs in countries throughout the world. Stop by the IEP office (SC-125) to pick up a district program pamphlet or brochures for certain programs such as to Guanajuato, Xalapa, Ireland or Prague.

In addition to the Maricopa programs, there are external education abroad opportunities available, too! They might offer a program that matches your interests as well. Feel free to stop by our office (SC-125) and browse through the additional information and resources that are available. We have numerous brochures advertising programs all over the world!

The following links are intended to help you with the process of selecting and following through with participating in an education abroad program. In addition to these links, the Education Abroad Advisor, Jen Sydow, is available in the International Education Programs Office to assist you and answer questions. If you have a question or concern, please ask!
