The three tenets of the SCC Honors program are; Research, Writing and Presentation.

1. The student may undertake primary research (original research which may include experiments, questionnaires, observation, case studies, etc.) or secondary research (cited information from published sources or expert opinion).
2. All research undertaken should be agreed to by the instructor and must be documented.

In this instance a written document is defined as information expressed through written language.  Musical notation, computer code, performance, sign language, public speaking, marketing materials, art, technical drawings etc. do not fulfill this requirement, however an essay reflecting on the process leading to the finished product does.
2. The written document should be typed and should be approximately six pages in length.

1. The completed Honors Contract should benefit the entire class.  A classroom presentation followed by a critique involving the whole class is recommended.
